Precepts of Shelton - Inductive Bible Study

“Inductive Bible study draws you into a personal interaction with the Scripture
and thus with the God of the Scriptures so that your beliefs are based on
a prayerful understanding and legitimate interpretation of Scripture
–truth that transforms you when you live by it.”
Kay Arthur, ‘How To Study Your Bible’ page 11

For seven years now, like Bible Detectives, we have poured through God’s Word in Precept studies, always confident that Jesus will ‘open (our) understanding that (we) might understand the Scriptures’ (Luke 24:45). We thrill in the hunt as we examine the details, the context and cross-references, definitions of key words including the original Greek and Hebrew meanings, people-places-promises-prophesies, the past, the present and our glorious future!

The nuggets we search for – the truth we long for - He faithfully and lovingly pours into our lives.

“I’ve been a part of Precepts for about seven years now. As I look back I see such a practical difference in my life in that Jesus is with me now constantly, not just on Sundays.” Maureen Beckstead
”And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make [you that ye shall] neither [be] barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Pet.1:5-8

“Attending our Precept Bible Study has really filled a need in my life, keeping me accountable to be in God’s Word on a consistent basis. The depth of the lessons I can learn about, and applying His Word is a treasure worth digging for” Linda Walker
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Col. 3:16

“Should we be amazed that in God’s sovereign way He has prepared specific opportunities for each of us to personally apply what we learn from week to week? Though these opportunities may include grief or sorrow, broken relationships, poor health, financial crisis or just day-to-day life, all are opportunities to participate with our Father’s perfect will as we apply His precious truths.” Carol Silva
”…but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2b.

So, take the leap!!! Join us on Tuesdays!!! We love to greet the morning with hot beverages and tasty snacks. Our worship is precious and our discussion time is priceless. Study of God's Word takes effort! Inductive Bible study will be the most difficult Bible study you will ever do. It will also be, by far, the most rewarding and edifying. The discipline and knowledge we gain through our weekly study and discussion can be applied with the help of the Holy Spirit in our daily walk with family, friends, and your community.
