We live in a culture that is powerfully impacted by entertainment media. As bearers of God’s image who are called to be His ambassadors, how are we to respond to the movies, TV, and music that surround us and permeate the culture and lives of those to whom we minister?
Are we – and our kids – to be cultural anorexics? Cultural gluttons? Or is there a better way . . . ?
Join us during the next two Family Legacy sessions as we discuss a thinking Christian response to entertainment.
How can we have the mind of Christ, and train our children to have the same? We will hear teaching from Tad, as well as hearing (by DVD) from culture experts like John Stonestreet of Summit Ministries. We will examine how to approach entertainment in a general way, as well as looking at several specific Hollywood worldview myths that can so easily slip by our defenses if we are not vigilant. Several film clips will be used as illustrations, and there will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and questions.
A special children’s program is offered. Kids learn, at their level, something important about their role in the family. In this way, parents and kids go home “on the same page” with a better understanding of how to cooperate with God in building a loving, lasting family legacy.
