In the beginning...

In 1983, a handful of us started a small Bible study here in Olympia.  Over the next 27 years, the Lord blessed us in many ways, and Calvary Chapel of Olympia has grown to a church with 1500 people coming on the weekends.

Small groups are important

Church is a lot different with so many people coming. We understand the desire for close fellowship with each other, and that can be challenging in such a large group. So one of the things we have always tried to do is to break the church down into smaller groups. We call them Life Groups. These are small groups that meet in homes, with varying schedules among the groups. We have 40 Life Groups at this point and love starting new ones. Life Groups are the best way to get to know people and grow in Jesus, sharing life together.

Other ministries

We have many ongoing ministries here at Calvary.  You'll see a list of them on the left that you can click on.  They include:

Serving outside the church

We have a lot of people who serve as volunteers at these ministries in our community:

Our weekly services

Our main focus here at Calvary is the teaching of the Word. On Sunday mornings we are always going through a book of the Bible; on Wednesday evenings we do the same, only at a little faster pace. Kids’ classes are offered during each of these services. We have a full program for junior and senior high youth. Sam Christensen is our Jr. High Pastor and Ben Phillips is our Senior High Youth Pastor.
